ABQ Journal News Staff

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque Economic Development Inc. announced Tuesday that it will move its offices to a 4,300-square-foot suite at the Albuquerque Plaza downtown this summer.

The not-for-profit economic development organization was previously headquartered at the University of New Mexico’s Science and Technology Park, about two miles away from its new location.

In a release, Roberta Cooper Ramo, AED’s chair, called the downtown area “critical to Albuquerque’s economic success” and said the organization was “proud to be a dedicated partner in the revitalization of this historic area.”

The Albuquerque Plaza building is owned by hotelier Jim Long and is attached to the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque Hotel.

According to the release, AED has recruited more than 235 companies and more than 35,000 jobs to the Albuquerque metropolitan area since its creation in 1960.
